The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
