Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
