۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 What, do we then not die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
