Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 What, when we are dead and become dust? That is a far returning!' 3 We know what the earth diminishes of them; with Us is a book recording. 4 Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are (now) in a state of confusion. 5 Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein? 6 We spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and We cause every delightful thing to grow in it 7 To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). 8 And We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest 9 and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, 10 As sustenance for (Allah's) Servants;- and We give (new) life therewith to land that is dead: Thus will be the Resurrection. 11 The folk of Noah denied (the truth) before them, and (so did) the dwellers at Ar-Rass and (the tribe of) Thamud, 12 And the tribe of 'Ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, 13 the men of the Thicket, the people of Tubba'. Every one cried lies to the Messengers, and My threat came true. 14 Did We fail to accomplish the first creation? Of course, We did not; We have all power over all things. Yet they are confused about a new creation. 15
