Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
