The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 And the Book written 2 on wide-open scrolls. 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Then woe that day unto the deniers 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 To those who have attained to faith We shall unite their offspring who have also followed them in faith, and We shall not let any of their good deeds go unrewarded; every human being is a pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
