Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
