Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
