The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 And the night when it draws a veil over it, 4 And the heaven and Him Who made it, 5 and by the earth and by Him Who stretched it out; 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 and inspired it with its sin and its piety, 8 He who purifies it will indeed be successful, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 when the most wicked of them broke forth, 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 He did not fear the consequences. 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
