The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 The rebels' abode, 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
