The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
