The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
