And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
