We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
