Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
