The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
