The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
