He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 And he fears, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 noble and pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 And produce therein corn, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 fruits, and grass. 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Dust shall cover them 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
