The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
