The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his Message of Islamic Monotheism). 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
