Al-Baqarah 5 of 40
O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill (your obligations to) My Covenant (with you) so that I fulfill (My Obligations to) your covenant (with Me), and fear none but Me. 40 And believe in what I have sent down which verifies what is already with you; and do not be the first to deny it, nor part with it for little gain; and beware of Me. 41 And do not confound the truth with vanity, and do not conceal the truth wittingly. 42 And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience]. 43 ۞ Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allah) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves, while you recite the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]! Have you then no sense? 44 And seek help in patience and prayer; and verily it is hard, except unto the meek. 45 Who are conscious that they have to meet their Lord, and to Him they have to return. 46
