'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 125 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 "Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves? 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 He has given you abundance of cattle and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 "This is no other than the false-tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 19, Page 97] 137 and we shall not be punished." 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
