Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
