Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
