The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail. 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 with downcast eyes they shall come out of their graves, as if they were locusts milling about 7 Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 We opened the Gates of Heaven with torrential water 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. 12 And We bore Noah on the vessel built of planks and nails, 13 Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected! 14 We have left this as a sign: but will anyone take heed? 15 How terrible then was My punishment and My warning. 16 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, 19 Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up. 20 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
