The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
