The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
