The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
