And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 Nor a true friend; 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
