1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
