Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 He has created you by stages! 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
