The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
