(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Hath the admonition been laid upon him from amongst us! Aye! he is a liar insolent. 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient! 27 And declare thou unto them that water hath been divided between them; every drinking shall be by turns. 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 We sent down upon them a violent sandstorm (which destroyed them all) except for the family of Lot, whom We saved in the early morning by Our favor. 34 As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 40
