Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. Pay heed to me. 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will send you abundant 11 And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection)? 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
