Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
