Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
