Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
