The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
