Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
