The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a fitting requital, 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
