The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
