Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions lined up 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
