The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 to penetrate into the hearts. 7 closed around them 8 In extending columns. 9
True are the words of God the Almighty.
