Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
