T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." 24
