The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
