Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ha Mim. 1 This Book is revealed by God, the Almighty, the All Knowing. 2 The Forgiver of sin, the Accepter of repentance, the Stern in punishment, the Bountiful. There is no Allah save Him. Unto Him is the journeying. 3 None but the unbelievers dispute regarding the Signs of Allah. So let not their strutting about in the land delude you. 4 to the truth gave the lie, before their time, the people of Noah and after them, all those [others] who were leagued together [against God's message-bearers]; and each of those communities schemed against the apostle sent unto them, aiming to lay hands on him; and they contended [against his message] with fallacious arguments, so as to render void the truth thereby: but then I took them to task - and how awesome was My retribution! 5 Thus has the word of your Lord come true against the deniers; they shall be the inmates of the Fire. 6 Those who sustain the Throne (of Allah) and those around it Sing Glory and Praise to their Lord; believe in Him; and implore Forgiveness for those who believe: "Our Lord! Thy Reach is over all things, in Mercy and Knowledge. Forgive, then, those who turn in Repentance, and follow Thy Path; and preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire! 7 and admit them, Lord, to the Eternal Garden You have promised to them, together with their righteous ancestors, spouses, and offspring: You alone are the Almighty; the All Wise. 8 And keep them from evil deeds, and whom Thou keepest from evil deeds this day, indeed Thou hast mercy on him, and that is the mighty achievement. 9
