Ha Mim. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 And from* His bondmen, they appointed a portion for Him; man is indeed an open ingrate. (* Appointed some of His creation as His sons and daughters). 15
