Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha-Meem. Alphabets of the Arabic language - Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 And the Qur'an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
