Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 The revelation of the Scripture is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 2 Lo! in the heavens and the earth are portents for believers. 3 in your own creation and all the creatures He has spread about, there are signs for people of sure faith; 4 and in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the circulation of the winds: [in all this] there are signs for people who use their reason. 5 These are the revelations of Allah which We rehearse unto thee with truth: in what discourse then, after Allah and His revelations, will they believe? 6 Ruin is for every great slanderer, excessive sinner. 7 who hears Allah's Signs being rehearsed to him, and yet persists in his pride, as though he had not heard it. Announce to him, then, the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 8 And when he comes to know about any of the verses, he mocks at it; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 9 There is Hell before them; and whatever they have earned will not avail them in the least, nor those whom they take as friends apart from God. There is great chastisement for them. 10 Such is Our guidance; those who reject their Lord's revelations shall suffer a woeful punishment. 11
